A Tree For A Child was started by “Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa” foundation on 14 February 2001. It is an innovative sustainable development program which combines poverty alleviation and environment protection.

- 500 staffs from Accor Hotels attended the Accor Green Day at Bogor Botanical Garden on 14th February 2001 that marked the birth of ATFAC.
- 60 under privileged children are given scholarships

| 2002 |
- The 1st Clinic is opened in Cipinang, East Jakarta, on 6th of June 2002. It is opened twice a week every Tuesday and Friday, from 10:00 until 12:00
- 100 children are benefited from this free medical treatment

| 2003 |
- In conjunction with the World’s Children Day, on 23rd of July 2003, all the children are taken to an educational fun trip to Sea World in Ancol, North Jakarta.

| 2004 |
- Increase the number of Children who are given scholarship from 60 to 100.
- Involve community around the clinics to participate in the cleanliness of their environment to prevent both the children and their families from seasonal diseases
- Start to run free English and Computer courses for the children

| 2005 |
- Creating a Library room with a collection of nearly 3000 books to support the children’s education and build their interest to read
- Relocate the clinic to a bigger house so that It can provide better services.
- The clinic is opened for 3 times per week
- Accor Hotels staff and the A Tree For A Child Children are involved on the green campaign at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (Hotel Indonesia Roundabout) to distribute seeds and plants for fund raising

| 2006 |
- 100 children from ATFAC decided to show their solidarity to the Yogyakarta’s earthquake victims by raising funds. They are able to collect Rp 650,000
- ATFAC Soccer Team win the 3rd rank on the football competition organized by ILO-IPEC and Yayasan Rumah Kita.
- Accor signed MOU with KEHATI to support the environment conservation within our hotels.
- An in-flight hotel marketing movie at Garuda Indonesia is used as the media to raise awareness that Accor against child abuse.

- 1000 staffs and 100 children are mobilized during the Earth Guest Day, to shows Accor’s active participation in protecting the environment
- In complement to the existing program “A Tree for A Child”: Protecting environment for the benefit of poverty alleviation, Accor Indonesia, CIRAD, CIFOR, state-owned forest management company, Perum Perhutani and community forest group Karya Lestari have signed an agreement on “Collaborative Forest Management” program aims to plant 74,120 sengon trees (Paraserienthes faicataria) and jatropha plants in 43,2 ha forest areas in Gelandang Village, Central Java, Indonesia.

- A Tree For A Child has signed agreement with Accor worldwide for Plant for The Planet program to replant the forest in Central Java. This project is to support Accor ambition to plant 3 million trees by 2012 in seven forests worldwide.
- A commitment of Accor Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore of “1 room – 10 Trees” (whenever we build a new room, the hotel will contribute to plant 10 trees) is launched during 2008 Earth Guest Day
- Participating on International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility in Jakarta Exhibition Center
- 21 out of 70 Children are graduated from Junior High Schools

- A third MOU with Perhutani, state owned management forest company, and community forest management group Karya Lestari is signed for an extension of 10 ha forest areas in Glandang Village, Central Java. A total of 150 farmers are involved in the project
- 22 Children are in highschools, 47 in Junior High Schools and 2 in Elementary Schools
- 10 new children are recruited
- Monthly distribution of Sembako (nine basic food items) worth of IDR 150,000 per families
- 10 students are becoming the top students in their schools
