Since 2001, A Tree For A child has successfully helped 70 children with their educational needs and brought them from elementary to Secondary schools.
In accommodating “A Tree for A Child” program which is getting wider by time to time, we created the foundation called ”Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa”. This foundation was formalized by lawyer official document no.9/19 April 2004.
A Tree for A Child is a social and environmental program aiming alleviating poverty and protecting the environment.
The project is selected because of its sustainability and its innovative concept of protecting environment for the benefit of poverty alleviation.
The long term objectives:
- To make underprivileged children healthy
- To provide maximum education (academy, vocational school)
- To create a friendly environment
Collaborative Forrest Management Program:
ATFAC cooperates with the Indonesia Ministry of Forestry, CIRAD and CIFOR which resulted in more than 70 hectars of land in Central Java dedicated for reforestation and providing land access for 150 farmers in Java.
To date ATFAC have planted over 100,000 sengon trees and the farmers have jobs and able to send their children to schools.
Long Term Scholarship
ATFAC provides scholarship to over 80 talented children who live in the poor area of Cipinang, East Jakarta. The scholarship started at the early school age when the recipients were between the age of 6-8 years old. The scholarship will be given to the children until they are able to completed the academy, vocational school or university.
English and computer courses
As part of ATFAC commitment, a free-weekly English courses and computer courses are held for all the children based on their level.
On-site free medical and clinic
A doctor is available to provide the children with on clinic health check-ups.
Nutritional and balanced meals
ATFAC committed to provide nutritional and balance luncheon for the children to maintain their health and daily nutritional value
